In total, Portugal achieved 16 Grand Golds, 114 Golds and 227 Silvers. Porto and Douro wine region was the most awarded Portuguese region with 137 medals, followed by Alentejo with 115 medals. The results are pretty exciting because the number of awarded wines increased compared to last year. The wines were blind tasted by 320 judges comprising sommeliers, buyers, importers, journalists and wine writers from 54 countries. Next year\u2019s edition will take place in Valladolid, Spain.
